Tips for your fertility journey during the holidays
I’d first like to say, I know this season can be a little difficult when you are struggling to get pregnant. You have to see holiday-themed baby announcements, while also going to nosy Aunt Betty’s house only to hear “ when are yall having babies” for the millionth time ( which feels like a knife in the heart because you’d like to know the answer too).
So a few tips for getting through the holidays
- Avoid any parties or gatherings that you need to. You don’t HAVE to attend all the parties or get-togethers. If someone in your family or friends circle is triggering to you- just send them a Christmas card and stay at home. Draw healthy boundaries for your emotional needs.
- Every time you see a baby announcement, I want you to say out loud to yourself “ the next one is me.” Every single time. You might feel funny at first, but your mind is a powerful thing, and believing you will be next can help your body believe it too!
- Try not to stress about food too much. I know you might be eating a certain way or trying to lose weight for your fertility journey, but let’s not skip on the pumpkin pie if we really want it. This is just a season so enjoy the foods you love in moderation and you shouldn’t feel guilty about it.
Ok- put those in your back pocket as helpful thoughts and get ready to make your Christmas list with these 5 Christmas gifts for fertility.

Essential Oils
If you’ve been hanging around with me for a while you know I love essential oils. Essential oils can be such a great tool to have in your fertility toolbox for multiple reasons!
These little bottles of plant goodness make a great gift for anyone trying to conceive for two reasons:
- Stress management
- Lowering toxic load
- Make your house smell wonderful
Stress management
Stress is generally high for all of us just because of the busy world we live in. Stress is even higher for the holidays. And it’s even HIGHER for a woman trying to get pregnant during the holidays.
That means that having some effective and portable stress management techniques is going to be crucial to your health and fertility. Many essential oils have been proven to help lower stress through the limbic system. Inhaling or topical applications are both easy and can be done anytime anywhere.
Simply take stress-lowering oils like Stress Away, Lavender, or Tranquil (one of my personal favorites) and rub on wrists, neck, or chest – or all the above ( always make sure to do a patch test before using oils topically in large amounts or areas).
You can also keep calming oils diffusing in your home or car. Bonus points if you mix Tangerine, Black Spruce, and Cinnamon because it smells like a Christmas dream AND can help calm you.
( As always, please use quality oils and not cheap/synthetic oils. This is so important for results and overall health. I personally only use Young Living or Revive. doTerra is also a great reputable brand. For the love of Santa, please no TJ Maxx oils. You can wear their sweaters, but you can’t use their oils)
Lower Toxic Load
Reason #2 essential oils are a great Christmas gift for fertility is because they can replace many toxic chemicals in your home.
When I work with my fertility patients, we always cover toxic load and how to identify endocrine-disrupting chemicals and replace them with cleaner options. If you have a handful of oils like lavender, peppermint, Thieves, lemon, and tea tree you can DIY many of your own products and skip the toxic options at the store. I promise its easier than you think!
If you have zero oils, then there are two ways I suggest going about it. You can dip your toe in and snag just the 5 listed above (lavender, peppermint, thieves, lemon, and tea tree). This is enough to get you started and serve a multitude of purposes.
OR
You can dive in head first and grab a starter kit which gives you a big discount and a diffuser. This is what I personally started with and loved it.
Either way you can’t go wrong! Put one or the other on your Christmas list and get ready to find it under the tree later.

Needed Supplements
Depending on your story, you might end up taking quite a few supplements, but ALL women trying to conceive need to be on a prenatal vitamin- and a quality one at that.
I personally recommend This is Needed to all my patients for a few reasons:
- Their ingredients are high quality and sustainably sourced
- Their customer service is knowledgeable and phenomenal
- They have 3 different prenatal options so you can find what works best for you
- They offer a discount when you subscribe which really adds up considering you’ll be taking it while you are trying to conceive, 9 months of pregnancy, and into breastfeeding.
I suggest starting with the Prenatal Powder because it’s DELICIOUS, but also because if you end up with morning sickness, it might be easier on your stomach than a pill. You can add it to a smoothie and you’re good to go.
Check out the options and put a single product or a bundle on your Christmas list and you’ll be set until next year!
Protein Powder
I know protein powder doesn’t sound like the best Christmas gift for fertility, but hear me out! Getting in enough protein is a must when it comes to optimizing fertility. Protein powder is an easy way ( especially if you are busy and on the go a lot) to get in a quick 15-20 grams.
Shopping for protein powders can be tricky because you don’t want to be buying one with fillers and inferior ingredients. I’ve tried and tested quite a few and these are my two top picks for quality, clean ingredients, and not tasting like chalky nonsense.
KOS
I personally like the vanilla flavor and use a little less than the scoop recommends for the perfect consistency. It blends well and tastes good in smoothies as well as pancakes. You can grab this one at Walmart or Amazon or of course on their website www.kos.com.
Just Ingredients
I found this company and woman when her Instagram popped up in my feed. She teaches a lot about clean and nontoxic items such as food or personal products. It was ( and still is) a handy page to learn from for me, but I also love that she has her own products. The protein powder is smooth and very high quality.
Renewed and Radiant
You might think this is a biased one to put on the list ( and maybe it is), but I honestly think this program is a great first step for anyone trying to get pregnant. It’s a step-by-step- week-by-week course to help you really optimize your fertility and general wellness. It covers things like nutrition, movement, emotional support, and how to use targeted Cellcore products ( which are highly respected and effective) to help you really cleanse your system and set yourself up for a healthy pregnancy.
And if you can get it on mom or dad’s dollar for Christmas- even better!
Getting it for Christmas will be nice because then you can be ready first of the year to knock out your fertility New Year’s goals!
Sauna
Ok, this is a big ask as far as presents go, but hey- it’s Christmas so dream big! (But actually there are some really affordable options out there)
Opening up our detox pathways ( i.e. sweating, pooping- avenues to get toxins and waste OUT of the body) is a cleansing and beneficial habit when you are trying to conceive.
We want to flush out excess hormones for better balance and optimal organ function. Now exercising is a great way to do this, but another option that is super beneficial is time in a sauna.
This provides quiet time to destress while also opening up the body and getting a good sweat on. Bonus points if you get an infrared sauna!
You don’t have to get anything super expensive or fancy. You can start with a simple sleeping bag-style sauna like this one or even a pop-up tent like this one. I do highly recommend getting an infrared option if Santa can afford it.
This is a gift that you can enjoy for years and share with your family for health benefits ( but only if you want to )
So get out your pen and paper and add these 5 things to your Christmas list!
Tell us in the comments what you’d love to ask for for Christmas this year.
